Session Description

As of early 2026, the landscape of graduate education has been significantly altered by a series of legislative and executive actions from the Trump administration. The impact is primarily felt through the “One Big Beautiful Bill” (OBBB) Act, signed in July 2025, and various shifts in immigration and civil rights enforcement. This presentation will discuss how these policies are specifically affecting graduate education, with a focus on financial obstacles, international student enrollment, and graduate research funding. Factors contributing to our current situation will also be examined.

Presenter: Chad Miller, Director of Graduate Recruitment, Millersville University
